Update – Going International
We are appalled by how our United States Veterans are treated.We hope that this project will help to raise awareness and prompt changes needed to address some of the problems our veterans face.
We hope that by allowing Veterans to tell their stories, in their own words, and by showing the world through video and photographs some of the daily struggles, trials, and triumphs of these brave men and women the general public will become more aware of the issues that they face. Some of these issues include lack of treatment, homelessness, psychological and physical disabilities, and unemployment.
Update: We have decided to expand the project at the request of others to include veterans from around the world. We have a special place in our hearts for our U.S. Veterans, but thought that it would be interesting to see how veterans from other parts of the world are treated. We are open to taking this project beyond a year if there is enough interest and veterans willing to be interviewed. Our main purpose with this project is simply to Honor those who have served and raise awareness. We want to see better services, treatment, health care, jobs, and opportunities for veterans.
Technology has helped to create a global village. Boundaries are blurred and broken as we become more in tune with, and more connected with the world. I believe it is important to take every opportunity one is given to learn about other cultures so we will welcome and honor vets from across the globe in this project. We look forward to sharing the stories of these International Heroes with you. We hope that you will join us in this amazing journey.
We have an interview set up with our first veteran for today. We should have her story up sometime soon. We are very excited about bringing the stories of these amazing lives to you. We plan to interview veterans from around the globe. Young and Old. We also plan to do at least a couple of memorial posts in honor of fallen heroes, and from families of those who served in earlier wars and are no longer with us.

I don’t know how veterans are treated – I thought like heros, all except the Vietnam Veterans. I really don’t know. It should indeed be interesting to pop in from time to time, & see.

I hope that we can enlighten you about some of the issues our veterans face. I wish that they all were treated like heroes, sadly that is not the case. I hope that you will visit again.
