Your Support & Looking Ahead

January 13, 2012

Hello I wanted to personally thank you all for the support you have shown this project. We are so proud to have received the amount of support and interest that we have in this blog. We have been busy behind the scenes working on PR and building a website, is coming soon. We expect to complete a couple of interviews with the press over the weekend and will post links to those once they are available. We have been hard at work on Twitter and Facebook as well.

We apologize for the lack of stories here over the past few days. We do have several individuals working on their stories for us, but they are not quite ready. We will not apply deadlines or even guidelines to submissions, because we know that some of the stories are going to be difficult to write, and we do not want to rush the process. We also do not wish to limit the individual in any way. We want each person to tell their story, in their own words, in their own way.

For those of you thinking about sharing your story please let us know what we can do to help you with the process. If  you want to write the story, make a video, include photos, music, art, whatever it takes to express yourselves. If you have problems with expressing yourself or with writing you could tell your story to one of our team members and have us transcribe the story. If you want to tell your story in photos, or in the form of art we welcome that as well. We are open to all mediums, just let us know what you have in mind and how we can help you.

None of this would be possible without your support so please continue to share the blog and help us get the word out. We believe deeply in the work we are doing here, and want to continue this project on beyond 2012. We would like to honor a veteran a day every day in 2012 and beyond. So please share with your friends, facebook, twitter, and other networks Thank you all again for your continued support and patience.

Tina & Jennifer

I’ve already mentioned this in a comment on the post about me, but with Tina’s permission I’ve created a miniturized version of this blog’s logo to create a link on my photoblog to direct people back here. Others bloggers/websites are welcome to borrow the mini-logo to do the same:

Storytelling is key to healing – and you can’t rush either. I look forward to seeing where you go with this! Good luck…

Thank you and I agree that there can be healing through storytelling, we are seeing that already with this blog and the interaction between writers and readers. It is a wonderful thing to witness. Thank you for your support. ~Tina

Thank you so much. Jennifer and I have been so moved by this project. We were already passionate supporters of veterans, but this project has made us realize that we could be doing more. We really are just so thankful for and so much in awe of the community that we see budding here. We want to nurture it into a thriving community of individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of our veterans and active duty service members. I truly believe that, together, we can accomplish wonderful things. I have a vision of a community of civilians, veterans and service members connecting with and supporting one another. I see support groups forming, fundraising efforts, grassroots movements, advocacy groups, shared resources, art groups, and so much potential. It is difficult for me to contain my excitement and remember.. one step at a time… =)
